In Lightspeed Classroom, Web Rules allows you to specify which websites your students can, or cannot, access. Web Rules can be changed at any time, even during class, and they take effect almost instantly.
To access Web Rules for a class, first select the class you want to set rules for.
Then, click “Web Rules off” to enter the Web Rules menu.
Off is pretty self-explanatory and allows access to all sites not on the master blocklist set by the Technology Department. This means you, the teacher, are not controlling student browsing during your class.
The Allow mode option should be thought of as “only what I explicitly allow.” Allow mode does not allow students to visit any other website except for those provided on the list.
You can add up to 100 URLs to allow and create up to 20 lists of different URL combinations as you see fit.
<aside> 🚨 While this seems like a great option, many websites load data from other sources alongside their own or from sources that don’t match the URL allowed. This means that websites you allow might break because they aren’t able to reach out to retrieve data from other places on the internet.

The Block mode option should be thought of as “everything but this.” Block mode allows students to visit any website except for those provided on the list.
You can add up to 100 URLs to block and create up to 20 lists of different URL combinations as you see fit.
